Use these templates to communicate with tenants quickly and consistently. Replace all placeholders with the tenant, facility, and support details. Be sure to customize the wording to match your facility’s brand voice before sending.
Template Catalog
The catalog covers common tenant touchpoints such as move-in, facility-wide upgrades, and optional premium offerings. Each template includes placeholders for tenant, facility, and support details so you can deliver accurate, timely messages without drafting from scratch.
Move-In Text Message
Send this message immediately after assigning a unit to a new tenant. This is the default message we send for all new move-ins. You can edit this message by going to your location settings in the KISS Admin Panel and clicking Communication.

Hi {tenant_first_name}, welcome to {location_name}! You’ve been assigned to Unit {unit_name}. This facility uses a smart entry system. To access your unit, download the app and log in using your phone number.

You can send this email in addition to your current move-in email, or you can incorporate parts of it into your existing email.

With our mobile app, you can unlock and lock your unit with your phone, make secure payments, share access digitally, and enjoy a keyless, hassle-free experience from move-in to move-out.
To access your unit, you’ll need to use our mobile app. Follow the steps below to get started.

Click the link below from your mobile device to install the app.

Login Instructions
1. Enter your phone number on file.
2. Enter the six digit code that just arrived via text.
How to Unlock Your Unit
1. Open the app and select your unit.
2. Tap “Open Lock.”
3. Hold the back of your phone flat against the center of the lock until you see a checkmark. Tip Use the circle on your screen as a guide for where to place your phone.
4. Pull the handle to open the shackle.
How to Lock Your Unit
1. Place the lock back on the unit and close the shackle.
2. In the app, select “Close Unit.”
3. Repeat the scan from step three above to secure the lock.
4. Double-check that the lock is fully closed.
Important When you move out, do not remove the lock or leave it inside the unit — it stays on the door for the next tenant.

Entire Facility Transition Notice Email
Use this announcement when a facility is upgrading to smart locks. This will give tenants notice and allow them to log in to their app before the effective date.

Starting [Effective Date], we’ll be installing smart locks on all units to enhance security and make access more convenient for you.
What This Means for You

* Share access easily. Need someone to grab something for you? Send them temporary access via text.
* Better protection. Digital access logs help us monitor for unusual activity and better protect your belongings.
How the Transition Will Work
* Smart locks will be installed on all units starting [Date].
* Once installed, your current lock will no longer be usable.
* Follow the steps below to set up your smart lock. Note You will not see your unit in the app until [Effective Date].
Getting Started with Your Smart Lock
From your mobile device, click the link below to download the app:

1. Log in using your phone number.
2. Select the unit you wish to unlock.
3. Tap “Open Lock.”
4. Align the target on your screen, hold the back of your phone flat against the lock, and wait for the checkmark.
5. Swing the shackle open using the handle.
6. To lock, place the lock back on your unit, close the shackle, select “Close Unit,” and repeat step three.
7. Confirm that the lock is securely locked.
