About KISS
Learn about the KISS smart lock system, its core components, and how it transforms access control for self-storage facilities.
The Value of Smart Locks
Before delving into the specific features and workflows, it is important to understand why these smart locks represent a significant advancement for your facility. The adoption of OneLock is not merely a replacement of traditional keys; it introduces a new standard of convenience, security, and operational efficiency in access management and facility operations.
Operational Efficiency
OneLock streamlines your facility's operations by automating access control, eliminating the need for manual key management. With real-time updates, everyone stays in the loop with the latest information, and automated processes mean you'll spend far less time on admin tasks. The end result is smoother day-to-day running and more time to focus on what really matters.
Enhanced Security
OneLock takes your facility's security up a notch by providing detailed audit trails for every access attempt and system change, so you always know who did what and when. Payment-based restrictions are enforced automatically, making sure only those up to date with their payments can get in. Plus, with role-based permissions, staff only have access to the areas and features they actually need—keeping things secure and tidy.
Improved Customer Experience
With OneLock, tenants get a much smoother experience. Self-service access means they don't have to wait around for staff, and the system is available 24/7, so they can get in whenever it suits them. As soon as a rental is completed, access is granted immediately—no delays, no hassle.
Business Intelligence
OneLock isn't just about locks and doors—it gives you valuable insights into how your facility is running. Usage analytics help you spot trends and optimise operations, while payment tracking gives you a clear view of your finances. Performance metrics highlight areas where things could be running better, so you can keep improving your business.

Core System Components
OneLock is made up of four core, tightly integrated components—each with its own role, but all working together to deliver a seamless access control experience. Here's a quick look at the main components that power the OneLock ecosystem. Each one has a specific job, but together they keep your facility secure and running like clockwork.
OneLock Web acts as the central hub, managing data and permissions. OneLock Manager handles daily operations and lock assignments. OneLock Access provides tenant self-service. Physical locks execute access decisions and communicate with the mobile apps via NFC technology.
OneLock Admin Panel
OneLock Web is your main online dashboard for running the whole OneLock system. Just log in from any web browser—no extra software needed. You can manage teams, set roles, connect your property management system (PMS), and keep everything up to date. It’s the central place to oversee your facility and keep things running smoothly.
Key features:
-
Web-based dashboard, accessible from anywhere.
-
Centralised control for all system settings and configurations.
-
Easy management of team permissions and user roles.
-
Seamless PMS integration and automatic data synchronization.
-
In-depth monitoring, activity logs, and reporting tools.
OneLock Web acts as the central nervous system, coordinating all other components and managing the overall ecosystem.
OneLock Manager
OneLock Manager is your go-to mobile app for handling the daily ins and outs of your facility. Just grab your iOS or Android device and you’re set—no need for extra hardware or complicated setups. OneLock Access
OneLock Access is the dedicated mobile app for tenants and renters, giving them full control over their own access and account details. Just download the app on your iOS or Android device—no need for extra hardware or complicated setup. With OneLock Access, tenants can get into their units, check their account status, and manage everything themselves, all from their phone.

Physical Smart Locks
Physical Smart Locks are the robust, keyless hardware that physically secure your storage units. No keys, no batteries, no Wi-Fi—just solid, reliable security that works hand-in-hand with the rest of the OneLock system. These locks use NFC technology to communicate directly with the mobile apps, making access quick and hassle-free for both staff and tenants.
Key features:
-
NFC-enabled for seamless communication with mobile apps.
-
Keyless entry—no keys or key cards to manage or lose.

The Physical Smart Locks execute access decisions from the mobile apps and provide the physical security layer for your storage units.
How OneLock Works
Here's the complete, high-level process of how OneLock works from start to finish:
Locks are assigned to specific storage units using the OneLock Manager (Manager App), which creates a digital link between each physical lock and its corresponding unit in the system. Facility managers scan the lock via NFC and select the target unit to create this bundle. Once your PMS integration is set up, unit information is automatically kept in sync, so everything stays up to date without any manual effort.
When a tenant rents a unit, they’re automatically granted access through the OneLock system. Access is provided via the OneLock Access app, which uses phone number authentication for security. Thanks to real-time synchronization, tenants receive immediate access as soon as their rental is complete.
If a tenant falls behind on payments, OneLock will automatically restrict their access according to your facility’s payment policies. The system uses payment status information from your property management system (PMS) to determine when to limit access—this process is often referred to as “overlocking.” Everything happens automatically, with no need for manual intervention, and always follows the rules you’ve set up for your site.
